His wife has left him for the man she had been having an affair with their whole marriage. This man was also a partner in the firm and most likely the father of Max's children. Only Max's loyal, and long suffering, legal secretary Eleanor has stuck with him. Well, and her mentally ill sister Sarah. Now Max has one client, Gail, who is trying to free her husband who believes he has been wrongfully convicted.

A brilliant play from George F. Walker that is actually laugh out loud funny at some points. Worth reading or seeing.
