World-weary foreign correspondent Mort Rosenblum takes the reader aboard his 54-foot launch tied up alongside the barges in the center of Paris. He introduces us to the characters who share his life along the river, ranging from eccentric movie stars and reclusive novelists to the barge families still trying to earn a living moving freight through the canals of Europe.

A guide to life along the Seine by motor launch from Paris through the provinces to Le Havre. You can smell the river and the villages and experience the adventure. I love this kind of biographical travel writing.
