Book 4 of the Alvin Maker Series. Could the cover art be any worse? Seriously, if everyone involved at the publisher made a concerted effort, could it be any worse? I didn't think so.
Ignore the stupid cover. This is a worth addition to a darn good series. See my other reviews of the earlier books. In my opinion, this might be the most interesting of the bunch, just because this is the book where Alvin finally starts to figure some stuff out, and OSC reveals a bit more about this fantasy world he's created and what's possible within it. Universal themes of right and wrong, the genesis of mob mentality, greed, and generosity are explored in interesting ways. Hard to put down.
