Trapped in IceeBook - 2011
In the pages of her diary, Helen records the fate of the crew and her family as they leave the ship and try to make their way across shifting ice flows, through blinding blizzards and past polar bears to safety on solid land. As the trek proceeds, Helen learns a few things about her family, about friendship and about a remarkable strength she never knew she had.
Based on true events surrounding the ill-fated Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1913, Trapped in Ice is a riveting, fast-paced adventure set in a marvelous but brutal world of ice and snow.

SummaryAdd a Summary
Trapped in ice is a story situated in the beginning of the 1900’s. A young teenager named Helen finds herself in an adventure one would only dreamed about. The story is about an arctic expedition conducted in the 1900’s. Aboard the ship are brave leaders, each with a special qualification to make them worthy to cross seas. The captain of the ship, Captain Bartlett, has very high standards to which he holds his crew. Helen and her family... were not up to par with his criteria. The struggle of being accepted however, was barely a conflict in the book. When the waters of Antarctica freeze over as quickly as rain falls, it creates a few bumps in their once smooth ride. When the worst seems to have befallen, more problems arise.
