This is my 4 and a half year old's first chapter book success. (Versus shorter, fewer-word picture books.) He LOVES this book! He likes the suspense and the adventure aspect, and he laughs out loud at the brothers' very realistic antics with each other (little brother burping in older brother's ear tickles my son no end). I like that there are great role models of women scientists (including the boys' mother), without it being pedantic at all. Both my husband and I enjoy reading it aloud. I wish this author would write more!!
