This 2-disc compilation is comprised entirely of famous violinists. As the title is called Masters of the Bow, I would have expected inclusion of some violists and cellists in the album. Although the music selection is a good representation of the art of violin bowings, I must point out that there are obvious better performers of most of the works I heard here. Overall, I don't believe the title suits the album, it left me with a feeling of listening to a catalogue sampling rather than pure music enjoyment.

exquisite violin. Soothing songs and energetic ones mixed together so it didn't work as a bedtime CD but is better as background music during the day.
