Liked premise of Byzantine & Persian empire archetypes using late 19th century technology crawling out of galactic dark age with barbarians (Franks & Goths) using older American civil war to Napoleonic weapons or general to reunite the planet by ancient battle computer while his friend is hidden away from autocratic paranoid emperor.
