the first half of this book was very slow for me. i can't say if it was the plot or maybe the characters, but i couldn't get into it as easily as i have with Palahniuk's other books that i've read. the second half of the book seems to move a bit faster as it gets closer to the reveal of the "mystery" of the island and of Misty and her purpose there. interesting read, but overall i'm kinda eh about it.
