Good ideas for Canadian gardens.

Apr 20, 2012

With a title like “City Gardens” I was expecting small space and modern gardens, most of the yards featured were quite “large” by GVRD standards, There were very few pictures of gardens as seen from the street and very little emphasis on dealing with the privacy issues of urban living and condo or patio only gardens. All the gardens featured were very traditional or cottagie, there was little to no attention given to drought tolerant plants, low maintenance plants and native plants. Canadian Gardening is a great magazine I was expecting a better book.

This is the book to start with when you move into a new city home and are mulling over what you want to do with the area around it. Many excellent structural examples.
