I enjoyed the subject and the characters. I must say though, the main character, Miles Lord, was pretty slow figuring out who his main enemy was! Of course, then there would have been no story! "Mind candy" read but good historical detail makes the Steve Berry books great reads! I always enjoy Mr. Berry's comments about what is fact and what is fiction, too.

I liked this book. It was a really cool idea and was written well.

The story of the Romanov's is well known and has been explored frequently. But I enjoyed the modern twist of having the tsar returned to the throne in a modern Russia.

The lead character was interesting and believable. But there were times that his gullibility was frustrating. Occasionally the trust he showed stretched the imagination a bit too far. Akilina was a great character. She had a lot of fire and spirit and was fun to follow through the story.

Meh. First chapter not sufficiently intriguing or well-written that I wanted to read any further.

I really really loved this book! I am a major history girl and i can see that berry did some real research. I also find that he did a good job on making sure it worked in a way it maybe could have been real, Sadly it isn't. Rest in peace.

Not a very good book. Despite the great historical background, the plot just never took off

Interesting read because of the historical facts attached to it. Made me searched a little bit of the people involved during the Romanov era.

The plot is somewhat unbelievable.
