I loved listening to this book. It presents in three concurrent tracks:

Victoria Wood describes her team's challenging and often-funny travels in the present-day 'British Empire'.

A second reader delves into the British Empire's history in the various locales visited, such as New Zealand, Newfoundland, India, Zambia and Borneo.

A third reader explores the current status of each country, and gets honest assessments on the impact that the British Empire made.

And the threads are all woven together throughout the book.

"Victoria's Empire" is neither a defence of nor an apology for the British Empire. It's simply an honest effort to learn about its effect 200 years on, from the people who live there.

It's an enjoyable and informative account.
