A slow-burning story, unusual in its stortytelling, yet very fascinating if you can wait it out and adjust your expectations. It's generally recommended to stop watching after they solve the case of Laura Palmer's murder, then pick it up again for the last two episodes. The in-between episodes are produced by people other than Frost and Lynch, and aren't worth watching.

Then check out the new Twin Peaks series (2017) - filmed and set 25 years later!

really enjoyed the pilot and the first season of this truly strange show...second season got weaker/stranger as it went on...still very entertaining in its way....

Seminal TV series by David Lynch and Mark Frost- the series concerns the murder of the high school prom queen, but is really about the secrets and machinations of a small town community.

Haunting television series that explores the intersections between soap opera, horror and the occult. Still holds up after all of these years. This ' gold ' box set has some good interviews with the directors, cast and crew.

The seminal TV show that brought absurdism, horror and a parody of soap operas- all to prime time television in the USA ( in 1989/90 )- one of the most conservative and bland cultural edifices ever conceived. David Lynch and Mark Frost's pioneering work influenced countless other TV shows that came after it- and it's influence can still be felt- witness the first season of True Detective. The show varies in quality ( especially in the 2nd Season ) as Lynch and Frost loosened the reigns a bit- but it's still contains some unforgettable imagery. The film prequel " Fire Walk With Me " is also worth checking out ( this was made solely by David Lynch ).

A surreal cult favorite about the investigation into the murder of a high-school homecoming queen in a Pacific Northwest lumber town. Cocreated by filmmaker David Lynch, who also directed numerous episodes, the drama was a mysterious and mystical (when it wasn't merely murky) excursion into the dark side of human nature, rife with sex, violence, dream sequences and a gallery of bizarre characters.

Over 25 years later, this show is still as deliciously addicting as it ever was. Dale Cooper is one of the most enigmatic and fun characters I've ever seen on TV, and the inter-workings of the darkly enchanting Washington town are hypnotizing. This is one of the stories you think you'll have perfectly figured out, but alas, the owls are not what they seem.

David Lynch seminal masterpiece continues to reverberate through television history as a milestone that reinvented the medium while keeping us glued to our tv sets, especially this first season where the mystery concerning the murder of teenager Laura Palmer is solved within a series of dark twists and turns. The charisma of and chemistry between the series' protagonists, the brooding and hypnotic music, the wildly inventive plot and spellbinding dialogue, not to mention unique blend of humor, made this series a world wide phenomena unique and unparalleled.
