Liesbet Slegers does great board books! Their simplicity and bright colors and clean illustrations are a joy to read aloud to young ones. I feel that any children's library/section should own the entire collection of her work. Nevertheless, one criticism would be that the Dutch-to-English translators don't always get it right (e.g. "The snow is falling down" should be "The snow is falling," not "falling down." Perhaps the literal translation of expressions like "to snow" (in Dutch) create the confusion and minor linguistic problems in some of the close-but-not-quite-right English versions; all the more reason to be a tad more careful upon translating for readers, particularly young ones. Read these anyway, and interpret your own versions of what you think is the more correct English (your young one, if being read to anyway won't know the difference!). Again, the splendor of the simplicity and bright and clean illustrations outweighs the drawbacks of a few translation errors.
