Well written character study of a young girl who escapes her family roots in Paris for a year. Lita's parents are South American orphans who have amazed wealth after coming to America and opening what has become the largest Latin American food distributorship in the world. Lita comes to Paris to study international diplomacy and lives in an elite boarding house with several young ladies. While the plot may sound frivolous, the book is far from that. Lita learns about herself as she involves herself with several people, including a young, fragile man who captures her heart. I especially liked the owner of the house, Seraphine, who befriends and counsels Lita. Great characters and a good read.
