Typical cop formula set in Wyoming. Relies heavily on tropes and cliché dialogue. Unoriginal, safe and conventional to the point of being boring. Did not finish.

Found this series to be pretty boring. Found myself fast forwarding throughout. Didn't hold my interest. I thought the scene with him crying was a phony scene. Not recommended.

Great series, the plots and the dialogue are often a little sketchy, brief and hard to follow if you don't pay attention, but the action and character development as you watch the episodes comes through very well..... the countryside is beautiful and varied, the American counterpart of the Brit mystery series like Foyle's War which showcase the English pastoral scenery ...... I love this series, highly recommend it.

Very good western mystery series. Great characters. Love the strong friendship between Walt and Henry - both honorable, trustworthy men. Getting ready to start season 4 on Netflix. It has been renewed for a 5th season.

Entertaining series with good acting taking place in a small Wyoming town.

Australian actor (!) Robert Taylor is terrific as Walt Longmire; an old school Western lawman of few words, and high morals. Excellent supporting cast, too, including Katee Sackhoff as his feisty fish-out-of-water deputy, and Lou Diamond Phillips as his wise compatriot and lifeline to the "rez". On to Season Two.

Great new series.

An excellent show frequently delineating the tensions between American Indians and the white community. The cast is outstanding...they all fit their part. Katee Sackhoff is excellent in her portrayal of Vic. Sheriff Longmire is not particularly likeable...he is a flawed person. Branch is well played by Bailey Chase (good looking actor too...lol)

Entertaining and unique. Took awhile to get warmed up, but it gets better as each character and episode develops. Have season 2 and 3 on order; Netflix has picked up Season 4 for 2015.

Wow! The imagination in the stories is very impressive. Like any drama - or human being for that matter - it doesn't stand up well to minute critical scrutiny but those who enjoy the west, native Indian drama, strong characters and real human drama will not be disappointed. Would be film-makers can benefit from the interviews with actors and directors on disk 1 and disk 2.

Walt: Are you (Barlow) having an affair with Julia Sublette?
Barlow: (sighs) I wouldn’t classify the emotionally detached sex we enjoy as an ”affair.” ... I tried marriage a few times and it didn’t agree with me. Julia is gorgeous and smart; we have fun and then she goes home. Why would I want to mess with that?

(May not be the exact words but close enough)
Vic: Does the cult have a name? October: Why is there so much ignorance in the world? Look at all the poisons you people consume, and the messiah you worship has been gone for 2000 years. Maybe you are the cult!

Walt Longmire: "We got guns and money, all we need is lawyers."

Henry: According to the internet, it takes three months for a marijuana plant to grow to this height.
Walt: According to the internet, the moon landing was faked.

From IMDb:
"Longmire: Pilot (#1.1)" (2012)
Omar: What happened to your hand?
Sheriff Walt Longmire: Hurt it.

Victoria 'Vic' Moretti: What the hell happened to your truck? And your hand. You hurt your hand.
Sheriff Walt Longmire: You're right. You should consider a career in law enforcement.

Cady Longmire: What happened to your hand?
Sheriff Walt Longmire: I hurt it.
