NEWLY ADAPTED FOR THE BIG SCREEN, STARRING CHLOE GRACE MORETZ AND JULIANNE MOORE. COMING TO MOVIE THEATERS EVERYWHERE OCTOBER 2013.

Stephen King's legendary debut novel about a teenage outcast and the revenge she enacts on her classmates.

Carrie White may have been unfashionable and unpopular, but she had a gift. Carrie could make things move by concentrating on them. A candle would fall. A door would lock. This was her power and her sin. Then, an act of kindness, as spontaneous as the vicious taunts of her classmates, offered Carrie a chance to be normal and go to her senior prom. But another act--of ferocious cruelty--turned her gift into a weapon of horror and destruction that her classmates would never forget.

I started reading Stephen King in junior high. Now that I'm older and have decided to read some of his older books again, I notice things I didn't before. Carrie, for example, strikes me now as an immensely sad story. Perhaps it's because I've read scarier or more disturbing books in the two decades since I first read it, but King's first novel doesn't give me the creeps the way some of his others do. It's not my favorite of his, but it's a solid first effort.

Carrie is about a young teenage girl who has a hard life. Her mother is a crazy women who believes the whole world is a sin. She tells Carrie horrible things that make her feel afraid. When she goes to school she gets bullied by the girls at the school. Everyone will regret it. The review I will give is a 5 out of 5. It's a good book. There are really intense scenes that make you feel like you are there with the characters . I recommend this book because if you like horror and suspense the book will be for you. This book is a little harsh for younger kids ,So it’s for a mature audience

This novel shows that there is more to someone than their outward appearance and that there are consequences to how people treat others.

Stephen King’s novel Carrie is an extraordinary book about a young sixteen-year-old girl who was sheltered by her overly religious mother and finds out that she got her first period in the girl’s shower room. After she is humiliated by the other girls in the shower room, she finds out that she has telekinetic powers. The whole story is revolved around Carrie experimenting with her telekinetic powers and slowly plotting her revenge against the ones who tormented her. This book is told in third person omniscient but is from the perspectives of all involved characters. Carrie is not your typical horror story, but I’m sure that this book is bone-chilling and edge-of-the-seat interesting. I give this book a 4/5 star rating. I recommend this book for readers ages 16 and up as there is mature content.

This was one of the most terrifying and gruesome books I have read. Stephen King was very direct and straight forward in his writing and a reader would be able to see themselves in the characters place.

are Christians really that much against women? her mother punished her for having monthly issues, but don't all post adolescent girls have them? and it seemed as if carrie were just going from bad to worse. it is like the fall of annakin skywalker in a girl's shower room. absolutely sick and poorly written

This was my second stephen king book and it just didn't do it for me. The first half was really good, but the second half just went downhill in my opinion.

My favourite Stephen King book and movie. Read it a few times in highschool. Poor Carrie, you just feel for her throughout the whole story.
