I love this series. That's just the plain truth and this book was interesting because it explored Sophia's story - why is she the way that she is, what damage occurred to change her so drastically. A new villain, and barely in time rescues by Gin and her posse ask you to just sit back and enjoy the unreal, well woven story telling.
I wish that when creating assassin protagonists, authors didn't feel the need to "humanise" them so much. It makes for a mass of contradictions and also for a not very efficient assassin. I'd admire her more if she harboured less angst and scruples.
