In My Life with Deth, cofounder and bassist of Megadeth David Ellefson reveals the behind-the-scenes details of life in one of the world's most popular heavy metal bands. If you're looking for revelations, they're here, including the drug habits that brought the band members to their knees. But My Life with Deth is far more than just another memoir of debauchery. Ellefson also shares the story of his faith journey, which began when he decided his only choice for survival was to get free from his addiction.

Now that money from CD sales has dried up, I guess everyone is writing an autobiography these days, ...even if they really don't have much to say. Such is the case with this book; you'd think someone who's been in the music biz for 30+ years, had a raging heroin/coke habit, and played alongside one of the most obnoxious/charismatic personalities in metal (Mustaine) would have accumulated a few interesting stories over the years! Maybe he has, but he's not telling.

Ellefson comes across as a decent guy, but he is unwilling to give much insight into his experiences. There is about as much thoughtful analysis in this book as there is in an average Ottawa Sun column. Read Lemmy's book, if a good metal autobiography is what you're looking for - full of great stories, told with equal parts wit and insight.

This is truly one of the dullest books written about a career in music (and that's without mentioning how much he drones on about religion!).

Good book. If you enjoyed Dave Mustaine's book, you will probably like this biography too.
You don't have to be a Megadeth fan to enjoy this. More than likely the opposite, as diehard fans that know a lot about the band will not get all the answers they are seeking, but will get quite a few they maybe read about or heard of before.
Very quick and easy read.
