Based on well-known actual events. The "anarchist plot to destroy democracy" was merely imagined by Attorney General Palmer. The film is mainly about his ruthless exploitation of the bombings: terrorism as pretext for political posturing and oppression. (The more things change, the more they stay the same.)

Interesting film because of realistic portrayal of what the country was like 90 years ago. Story moved slow and some characters were caricatures. (Ha, ha)
