This Godzilla movie is too balanced. Yes the graphics is nice but it is a bit lenthy wait watching for Godzilla to wrestle and win against the evil monsters Mutos. The main character should have been Godzilla but the evil monsters and people were all treated like main characters. Too balanced for my liking it much.

Possibly the best Godzilla film ever made! This is how Godzilla would look if he was real. Cant wait for the next one Godzilla 2 !

Well, it was marginally better than that comedy version with Matthew Broderick.
Don't expect great drama from skyscraper-size monster movies. I also agree that Godzilla played peek-a-boo throughout the film.

With its predictable PG-13 rating - Godzilla was yet another humdrum, Hollywood production that used the lame excuse of a rampaging, over-sized monster in order to grind "family values" into the viewer's face, non-stop.

If you ask me - All that this $160 million movie amounted to was just a sickening family soap opera where big, brave daddy (your typical combat hero/G.I. Joe type) goes to the most ridiculous lengths imaginable in order to rescue his darling, little wifey and his precious, little sonny-boy. And, believe me, it was all pretty revolting stuff. Yep. It sure was.

And, speaking about Godzilla's role in this disappointing movie - Personally, I found the monster battle scenes (which were always filmed in near-darkness) to be so badly staged (and downright clumsy at times) that they actually came across like slapstick comedy, rather than their intended "dead-serious".

All-in-all - Godzilla was nothing but pure, recycled family fluff, from start to finish.

Largely boring until the last 20 minutes, when Godzilla actually battles the 2 Muto's. The rest is like 100 minutes of foreplay. Acting is not much to speak of, but not much was needed. Godzilla is actually a supporting character in this movie. I enjoyed Pacific Rim more, but I did like Godzilla's new blue radiation breathing......it just looks cooler, instead of like a flame thrower from the old movies.

I watched this movie to see how bad it would be and not expecting to watch it all. I did watch it all - was surprised.
While certainly not great, it was ok. CGI certainly makes a huge difference. (I remember the original puppet/marionette versions.)

I was a bit hesitant to watch this movie in the beginning. I thought it would be either too scary or boring. Turned out to be neither! It was intense and captivating! I loved the whole theory about Gojira bringing the balance. The beginning was a bit slow but without it, it wouldn't make sense. Also, Aaron Johnson was absolutely superb! Definitely a good family movie!

Godzilla & MUTOs wreak disaster on the Pacific Rim. I only wish that Bryan Cranston ("call me Heisenberg") had played a bigger role. Godzilla goes after three MUTOs (life forms born in the aftermath of atomic bomb blast and studied / nurtured by generations of humans) in an attempt to prevent them from breeding and, thereby, trashing the entire planet. Will Godzilla succeed and prevent the evil spawn or will he get his big ass kicked all the way back to Tokyo?

I expected the action scenes more interesting.

Stretching from the jungles of the South Pacific to the neon streets of Las Vegas, Gareth Edwards’ rip-snorting monster smackdown is the perfect summer no-brainer…a heady blend of CGI devastation, sci-fi silliness, and the most awesome incarnation of Toho Studios’ beloved saurian yet. The original Godzilla was meant to be a metaphor for the horrors of nuclear war with his fiery breath repeatedly laying waste to Japan’s economy, but in this latest reboot he provides the trumpeting bellow of nature itself warning mankind against tampering with the unknown while at the same time trying his catastrophic best to set things right again. An appropriately cartoonish script is elevated somewhat by a pounding musical score (including an eerie version of Ligeti’s "Requiem" not heard in theatres since apemen danced around Kubrick’s monolith) although one wonders what the casting crew were thinking with dull-faced hunk Aaron Taylor-Johnson eating up screen time as the hero while Oscar calibre actresses Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins hover unimportantly in the background. But Godzilla has never looked so terrifyingly sexy with his new bulked-up body and thunderous roar. Now if he’d only work on those table manners...

M.U.T.O. - Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism. It is, however, no longer terrestrial, it is airborne. Now, the world still thinks this was an earthquake and it would be preferable that that remain so. Before we lost sight of it, it was heading East across the Pacific and had emitted enough EMP disruption to create havoc with our radar and satellite feeds and reduce us, for the moment, to a strictly visual pursuit. I emphasize "for the moment," because we will get on our game and we will find this thing. It is imperative that we do so.
