The companion to Raina Telgemeier's #1 New York Times bestselling and Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir, Smile .

Raina can't wait to be a big sister. But once Amara is born, things aren't quite how she expected them to be. Amara is cute, but she's also a cranky, grouchy baby, and mostly prefers to play by herself. Their relationship doesn't improve much over the years, but when a baby brother enters the picture and later, something doesn't seem right between their parents, they realize they must figure out how to get along. They are sisters, after all.

Raina uses her signature humour and charm in both present-day narrative and perfectly placed flashbacks to tell the story of her relationship with her sister, which unfolds during the course of a road trip from their home in San Francisco to a family reunion in Colorado.

Sisters. If you’ve got one or two or three, you can agree they’re brats but we love them in the long end anyways don’t we. Sisters shows you the realistic side of having sisters and if you don’t have any this will tell you the whole story! It starts when you either asked for a sister and got your wish but regret it or you didn’t and you still aren’t happy with them. But obviously after all we love them since you know we kinda have to. Raina Telgemeier shows the whole story in perfect comics and drawings that are amusing and fan to read a look at. These books are great for smaller children as well! I suggest going and getting this book right now as it’s such a relatable book in many ways and was enjoyable to read. I can tell you that if your read this book you'd want to keep it forever and be in love with it! @smallstories of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This book, Sisters, is an amazing book to read if you enjoyed the book Smile! It includes lots of real life situations, including family issues. Some of the important issues that are covered in this book are siblings fighting, losing your job, and overall family problems. I would definitely recommend this book if you have a sister, because how much you can relate to it. Sisters also represents an important message which is, family above all else. It shows that no matter what happens, or how much you argue, your family will always be there for you. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because o the story line. I personally did not find the actual story to be that interesting, but besides that, Sisters is a great book! Rating 4/5

A very sweet story with cute cartoon drawings (it's a graphic novel) that tell the story of two sisters' relationship and how they grow together, based on the author's real childhood. I read it in an hour and enjoyed it very much!

I like this book because it connects to real life and that the author made a book about her own life so its like biography.

Sisters takes place over the course of a family road trip from California to Colorado, revealing the complexities of close family relationships through flashbacks into the author's early childhood, which focus on Raina and her sister Amara’s tense relationship. The road trip occurs over a backdrop of their parents’ strained marriage. This book is relatable and easy to absorb, highlighting the struggles of pre-teenhood. The artwork is appealing yet unassuming. While I was able to read it entirely in a 30-minute sitting, I don’t think I would have felt compelled to pick it up again had I stopped half way through. Neither the story nor the artwork did enough to grab me. I would recommend this to children and younger teens who are hesitant to read and are looking for something short and relatable.
