Most people assume that the Clintons amassed their considerable wealth through lucrative book deals and speaking gigs that sometimes paid as much as $500,000 $750,000. But who paid these fees, and why? Often foreign businessmen and governments made the enormous payments, believing the Clintons would help advance their interests. As Peter Schweizer reveals, the Clintons typically blur the lines between politics, philanthropy, and business. Consider the following: Bill flies into a third world country, where he spends time in the company of a businessman described as a "close personal friend." Introductions are made. A deal is struck usually to exploit natural resources, such as uranium, oil, or timber, on a large and highly profitable scale. Soon after that, enormous contributions are made to the Clinton Foundation from those who benefited from the deal, while Bill is commissioned to deliver a series of highly paid speeches. Moreover, some of these deals require approval or review by the US government and fall within the purview of a powerful senator and secretary of state. This scenario plays out again and again in Kazakhstan, Colombia, and other places at the "Wild West" fringe of the global economy. Often the people involved are characters of a kind that an American ex-president (not to mention the spouse of a sitting senator, secretary of state, or presidential candidate) should have nothing to do with. In this blockbuster expose, Schweizer reveals the mysterious multimillion-dollar Foundation gift from an obscure Indian politician that coincided with Senator Clinton's reversal on the nuclear non-proliferation treaty; how Secretary of State Clinton was involved in allowing the transfer of nearly 50 percent of US domestic uranium output to the Russian government, benefiting large donors to the Clinton Foundation; how multimillion-dollar contracts for Haiti disaster relief were awarded to donors and friends of Hillary and Bill; how Bill received large payments for speeches from foreign businesses and governments with matters pending before the State Department; how the Clintons' joint visit to Colombia was followed by the grant of lucrative logging rights to a Canadian billionaire, a top Clinton Foundation donor; how Bill received $2 million for speeches from the largest shareholder in the Keystone Pipeline project, even as Hillary played a role in approving it. Meticulously researched and scrupulously sourced, Clinton Cash raises serious and alarming questions of judgment, of possible indebtedness to an array of foreign interests, and, ultimately, of fitness for high public office."

Details Clinton ties to crooks, warlords, and tyrants. Bill's bribed pardon of Mark Rich was the tip of an enormous iceberg of corruption. Huge bribes were paid to buy Hillary's Senate vote, State Dept rulings, and future presidential action.
--- Hillary gave high State Dept jobs to unqualified Clinton operatives, and special waivers so they could receive double salaries. The Dept made large direct grants to favored firms. She blocked approval of foreign deals till applicants gave to the Foundation or paid Bill for speeches.
--- Bill got scores of millions for mediocre speeches on routine subjects. The exercise was merely a cover for bribes.
--- Hillary connived with freebooters in China, India, Africa, Latin America, who oppressed workers and damaged the environment. Leaders labeled criminal or despotic by the State Dept would nevertheless get waivers, subsidies, honors and awards if they paid the Clintons. Bribed by a rich Nigerian, Hillary delayed naming Boko Haran a terror group: it would hinder his business.
--- Clinton operatives worked to overcome environmentalist opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline after its backers paid the Clintons millions.
--- Most of the self-enrichment involved resource-plunder: diamonds, uranium, gold, oil, iron, lumber. The Clintons gained from the looting of Africa. They got foreign leaders to withhold permits from experienced firms, and grant them to Clinton-tied startups. One notable deal transferred control of vast uranium reserves to Russia.
--- When an earthquake hit Haiti, Bill, as special UN envoy, gave reconstruction contracts to Clinton partners. Crony consultants got fat fees for worthless reports. There were huge overruns and payments for work never done. One project reached only 5% of its target. Hillary's brother got mining rights for a pittance. International relief aid did little good after the Clintons had taken their cut.
--- Hillary's private server was probably used to hide Foundation involvement in State Dept matters, and that is probably why she purged 30,000 emails.

Just finished reading this book. The facts are so incredulous that I checked some of the footnotes, including the signed FEC statement by Hillary showing over $10 million of speech making in 2014. Schweizer stops short of alleging criminal intent due to the difficulty of showing a "transaction" from the flow of money to the actions the Clinton's took despite proximity. The book implicitly suggests we have seen the most corrupt president and secretary of state in our nation's history. A must read for voters wishing to know hard facts, but a sad read, showing America has lost its sensitivity to wrong behavior.

Worth reading. Crony capitalism, greed and corruption with wink of an eye so as not to be obviously criminal. Pretty depressing.

The Marc Rich pardon, Whitewater, Vince Foster, Travelgate & Monica. These scandals and embarrassments have tainted the Clinton brand for more than three decades. However, they pale in comparison to the numerous revelations in Schweizer's book. While Bill & Hillary pretend to champion human rights and democracy across the globe, they're more than willing to cozy up to some of the worst dictators from Kazakhstan to Nigeria - as long as they can profit from it. And profit they do, from Bill Clinton's "speaking fees" and the strings that come with it. Don't think these donors are not going to want their ROI if Hillary becomes president in 2016. A must read for anyone who cares about corruption.

Anyone who follows politics should read this. If you support the Clintons or don't, this should be read and examine the facts presented and weighed accordingly. It brings up the question that people have been asking a long time about the Clintons: why can't they make the choices that would make them less controversial in terms of ethics and morality? They could easily do so and would then not give any ammunition to their critics. Instead they act like they are untouchable and above the bounds of the rules they claim to support. The fact that they have done this to themselves is possibly the only thing that critics and supporters will be able to agree. At best they are irrevocably flawed people or at worst, the worst kinds of politicians, greedy and corrupt. Either way, anyone should give serious pause as to whether they should be allowed to have the power they seek.

4 out of 5 stars because I would like to have seem more than was presented. It's a very hot gun, but not a smoking one. And 4 because it does at least open the door on a larger debate that should happen.

Look at the finances for both parties, they are funded by the same Wall Street corporate elites!

Anyone who falls for the constructed political theater of "Left" vs. "Right", "Blue" vs. "Red", you suckers!

Whatever the motivations or connections that the author has, he still raises some serious and legitimate questions about whether there is a connection between donations made to the Clinton Foundation, and decisions made at the State Department during Hillary's tenure there. He also questions the bulldozing nature of some of the foundation's projects, which often go over the heads of local groups which have dealt with the same issues for decades, to the point of refusing to cooperate with those groups or asking them how best to deploy the money. It's this second item, more than the first, that raises the matter of if Hillary is ready for prime time. An independent eye is needed to clear the air once and for all if the Clintons violated the law - or at the very least, basic ethics.

Not surprising faux media is involved. According to Wiki, the author "is currently the president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), and is a former William J. Casey Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is also Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large.".

Clinton Cash Peter Schweizer: Author states that 60 Minutes CBS broadcast two features shows on Clinton Global Foundation income. Foreign donations. Legally, is this bribery? When Koch Brothers set up Super PAC, is this bribery? If it is not Quid pro Quo, is it still bribery? Allegedly, author's next book is Jeb Bush donations. Equal representation. On a small scale, move over Leland Yee.
