An excellent look at the history of the Andes. Heading north to south, we encounter the likes of Pablo Escobar, Charles Darwin, Che Guevara, the Shining Path terrorists in Peru, Hiram Bingham and Machu Picchu, Incan Mummies, Butch Cassidy and more. An engaging read (or listen if you can a copy of the Audiobook) that's sure to delight history buffs and armchair travelers alike.

Very easy and fun read. Part travel journal, history lesson, and brief moments of fictional re-creations of actual event.
