In Africa only the strong survive. Teenage martial-arts expert Connor Reeves is tasked with protecting a foreign ambassador's family on safari. What should have been the perfect assignment turns into the holiday from hell when their convoy is ambushed by gunmen. Fleeing through the bush, Connor and his assigned family become the prey in a shoot-to-kill hunt across the African plains. As they fight for their survival, Connor realizes the gunmen are the least of their problems. For no amount of bodyguard training can prepare him for the wilds of Africa and one prowling hungry leopard . . . Acclaim for the bestselling Bodyguard series- 'Bone-crunching action adventure.' Really liked this book. Fast paced action, heart-pounding moments, and never a bored second. One thing, though, is that I think the author puts Connor in way too many positions where he's going to be shot or beheaded, and makes like 3 supposed heroes save him at that very moment. Also, it seems that people betray them left and right when they start to explore the jungle. The ending was pretty weird and disappointing. I find that being hypnotized seems pretty unrealistic, and it's pretty predictable that the man will show up again in later books. One thing I really liked, though, was the very last few pages. I'm not going to spoil anything, but it FINALLY HAPPENED.

Ambush - Bodyguard Series book 3, a sequel to Hostage book 1 and Ransom book 2: – Meet Conner Reaves the new Alex Rider. This is another terrific book in Chris Bradford’s new series. Juvenile or teenage readers unfamiliar with Chris Bradford should also read his eight book series ‘Young Samurai,’ starting with ‘The Way of the Warrior,’ you will not be disappointed.
