Add a Comment19-2: the matter of fact, nitty-gritty of policing Montreal. No Hollywood fluff, dumbing down; no Ken and Barbie prancing and preening as they make a nation-saving arrest. Absent are white hats or black ones. Mundanity, tedium, sclerotic social ills manifesting in abundance on the street; cops on patrol. Suddenly, slashing manifestations of violence. Add in the ever present, corrosively toxic interrelationships among the on duty professional mercenary practitioners of law enforcement, not to mention, after hours, abandoning the vacuous exercise of serial monogamy (Nick's up-front sister is the only adult in this regard), and it all fascinates the viewer. First-class, captivating police drama, with the Canadian setting a real bonus.
