This may have been a very compelling movie. I will never know. I couldn't get past the swearing and using the Lord's name in vain.

They say truth is stranger than fiction and this is certainly true here. If they say that the worst things happen to the best people, then that is also true here. The low production values of this movie is made up for by all the original footage. Andrew Bagby was loved and he was lovable. His good nature was captured time and time again on video and testimonials speak to how he will live on after death. A most unnecessary death at the hands of a completely selfish person who remained selfish to the end. Good people come from good people and Andrew's parents are clearly that. The lengths these two go to to ensure a good life for their grandson is astounding. The film-maker has done something remarkable here. While he could not save the lives of two people, he may have saved the lives of two more by showcasing how much they matter to so many.

An amazingly powerful documentary. Not to be missed!

This film touched at my heart strings and brought tears to my eyes, a wonderful tribute to an amazing man who lost his life due to violence, and to the son he never met. I have great admiration for Kathy and David who have had to deal with the loss of their only son and grandson. It angers me that Shirley Turner was able to get bail and get access to her son, while accused of murder. This film will make you cry, laugh and think almost at the same time.

Dear Zachary is a great and heartbreaking film. I recommend it for all adults who like documentaries and especially for those with an interest in true crime documentaries such as Making a Murderer and The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.

One of THE best documentaries ever. Riveting story, interesting storytelling approach, emotional rollercoaster, politically motivating.

Wow. At first I thought I might give up on this one but am so, so happy I stuck with it. Kathy & David are truly amazing despite being victimized over & over. I know our justice system is old but this story truly shines the light on the urgency & need for radical changes.
Definately, highly at least 30minutes &, if by then, you aren't into it turn it off.

Absolutely devastating story. Seriously it will rip your heart out.

I almost turned it off ten minutes in because I had no idea who Andrew Bagby was and I thought in order to make the documentary really resonate I would have to know him. I stuck with it though, and am so glad I did. The story is so compelling, and his parents are such great people; the events that unfold are completely heartbreaking. Know that if you choose to watch this film, you will probably find tears running down your face before you even realise you're sobbing.

Not a particularly well filmed documentary but the story is so compelling and carries so much weight it must be heard. Truly emotional.
