The recipes I have tried were excellent (Blueberry Lemon Scones, Tempeh Apple Sage Sausage Patties, Banana Buckwheat Breakfast Cookies)

This would have been a much more useful book if every recipe didn't require protein powder! With the huge number of protein-rich whole food sources out there, it would have been nice to see the author adding whole beans or seeds or the like, rather than insisting on a scoop of protein powder in everything.
