Cars would seem to provide the lure of freedom, but in many places, traffic is so bad that drivers spend hours every day just going short distances. The bike is a great tool for change, but powerful interests who gain from the private car invest billions each year to lobby and advertise to protect against the encroachment of bicycles. Meet activists and thinkers who are fighting for better cities, who refuse to stop riding despite the increasing number killed in traffic.

I strongly believe everybody should at least see this. This comparison brings into the foreground issues that most importantly will go a long way to determining if species homo sapiens will avoid extinction, and also very important, affect the type and quality of life we will be and enjoy. I'm pulling for us and think this film can help. I thank the people that contributed to making it for us.

I never thought about how much real estate besides roads that cars take up in cities - for parking. or about how car, oil and building companies are the biggest lobbyists in big cities.

more highways lead to more cars lead to more highways - but not to getting there sooner.........

I'm definitely in favour of bike lanes, but sadly I'm not able to ride a bike......

An honest documentary showing the struggle for better bicycling infrastructure is a tough sell against vested interests with pockets full of money. But the reasons for change are clearly presented; and the conclusion is hopeful.
