Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? Former atheist and Chicago Tribune journalist Lee Strobel says yes! In this revised and updated bestseller, The Case for Christ, Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions - and building a captivating case for Christ's divinity.

Strobel challenges them with questions like, How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?

Winner of the Gold Medallion Book Award and twice nominated for the Christian Book of the Year Award, Strobel's tough, point-blank questions read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction. It's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure.

The new edition includes scores of revisions and additions, including updated material on archaeological and manuscript discoveries, fresh recommendations for further study, and an interview with the author that tells dramatic stories about the book's impact, provides behind-the-scenes information, and responds to critiques of the book by skeptics.

As The Case for Christ and its ancillary resources approach 10 million copies in print, this updated edition will prove even more valuable to your spiritual journey.

Strobel repeatedly advertises himself as a seasoned investigative reporter who knows how to go about finding the truth. However, he interviewed only Christian biblical researchers who were obviously looking at the "evidence" through a narrow lenz He only provided small quotes from atheist researchers for the "experts" to nullify; without those experts having to address a rebuttal. Some of the most outrageous claims made by Strobel:
-People living at the time of Jesus, though only 10% literate at best, were diligent about exact memorization of stories told them; even correcting one another.
-The earliest canonical gospel, Mark, though written at least 25 yrs after the events, can be counted on as accurate because many other ancient biographies were written much later after events.
-Significant discrepancies with various ancient copies of the same book, or between books, can easily be dismissed by viewing through the aforementioned lenz.
-Most Biblical researchers have their faith strengthened through their work. I understood the opposite to be true.
If you want a balanced view of this subject, you'll need to read some books by non-Christian researchers; many who started off as strong believers.

In over 2000 years there has been absolutely NO evidence that a flying sky fairy is watching your every move and answers your prayers. Grow up and educate yourself people. Science is real whether you believe it or not.

After watching the movie, I got the book that it was based upon and it is really good, especially knowing that Lee was a atheist wanted to disprove the bible to save his marriage. He uses his experience as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and his Yale Lawyer degree to interview experts about the evidence for Christ from the fields of science, philosophy, and history.

Terrible book. It was so riddled with logical fallacies and extremely poor scholarship that I couldn't even finish it. A much better read is _The Case Against the "Case for Christ"_ by renowned scholar Robert M. Price. Here, Price meticulously tears apart piece by piece all of the rubbish that Strobel's experts espouse by pointing out where and how they are wrong. The bonus is that Price is very entertaining and witty in his criticisms; meanwhile, Strobel, for all of his supposed journalist credibility, merely falls flat at every fallacious turn. Trust me, this book is not worth your time.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
P.S. I noticed the several other obviously anti-Christian reviewers have added a bad rating for this book and complained about Strobel's supposedly "fallacious" arguments. How do you prove that they are fallacious? All of the claims made in this book are backed up with solid proof and credible sources. Why did you read this book if you just wanted to criticize it? One reviewer said that there is another book called the Case Against the Case for Christ, and they admired the author's supposed "wittiness". What does it matter whether someone is "witty" or not? There are many people in the world who are not witty or clever and still they are good people. What really matters is truth, understanding, belief, and faith.
Strobel is telling the truth. His evidence is so astounding that even I, a Christian, am shocked. Some of the negative reviewers out there are just so caught up in their anger that they just can't see the truth when it's sitting right in front of them.

Very pragmatic approach to giving a strong defense for justification of the Believer. The book is written by a former Atheist, which also happens to be an investigative journalism. His whole book is very well written and is a thorough and very detailed in is case for Christ. By the end of this book, if you are a Believer, it will strengthen your Faith, and maybe even swing the skeptic to the side of the Believers.

I have only one complaint about this book. The narrative style. I just don't like it, and it tends to rub me the wrong way. That's the only reason I can't give this a 5 star rating. This book covers just about every atheist/anti-theist argument I've encountered (and no wonder, since it traced the author's journey out of atheism) with hard facts, research, evidence, logic and reason. Well worth the read.

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic...or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." C. S. Lewis
