This movie was completely idiotic. Scott is completely depending upon his rep in having made this movie. I believe that this movie is a symptom of Scott's senility; but as with the naked emperor, no one is willing to tell him, or maybe they just don't know how to. Just awful!! Don't bother! Such a disappointment , especially after the complete and utter brilliance of "The Alien" which is one of the few PURRRFECT MOVIES which J. Cameron subsequently ruined!!!

A well crafted alien movie!

I thought this was a terrible movie. The characters were unlikable and it was hard to tell which character was which because they all looked the same. The acting was terrible because real astronauts don’t overreact in situations because otherwise they wouldn’t be allowed to be one. In real life they have to be calm and follow procedures exactly. The only good thing about the show was that the aliens were cool. This show also didn’t have Ripley who is awesome so it wasn’t as good a show. This is the worst of the Alien movies even though this movie explains the next few movies I would recommend not watching. The other Alien movies like Alien or Aliens are much better. Watch those instead.

This was such an unnecessary movie! While it does give a bit more "origin" to the original series, it's supposed to also be a sequel to Prometheus. Instead of tying up loose ends or giving us more of the story and characters we wanted to get resolution for, they basically just tried to jump-scare their way around any sort of real conclusions for Prometheus. The "twist" at the end was so expected, especially after the dual Fassbender scene (you'll know it when you see it). Overall, I was severely disappointed with this movie.

Directed and produced by Ridley Scott in 2016 as a sequel to Prometheus (2012), this SF horror drama follows the crew of a colony ship that lands on an uncharted planet and makes a terrifying discovery.
Although the special effects appear great, the scipt seems ill-contrived, predictable and flat with no twists nor turns.

I am sick-to-death of these "alien" movies - Absolutely sick of them.

What Sith101 says... but not reflected by the whopping $240M it earned in theatres!

Pretty much a wanna be Alien 1 movie that even uses the same music from the original the only problem is the characters are just a bunch of Star Trek Red shirts waiting to be killed you care nothing about them. Nothing was answered or continued from Prometheus. This movie makes Prometheus look better. Bad CGI. We get to see the continuation of the artificial person David not sure if he is just down right evil or misguided. In this movie he just seems down right evil. Pretty much you can tell what the outcome of the movie a mile away when they introduce another artificial person who wait looks like David but his name is Walter. This movie is just a lazy sequel to Prometheus that does nothing.

Many quotes in IMDb. This is from prologue:

Walter: All these wonders of art... design, human ingenuity... All utterly meaningless in the face of the only question that matters. Where do we come from? I refuse to believe that mankind... is a random by-product of molecular circumstance. No more than the result of... Mere biological chance. No. There must be more. And you and I, son, we will find it.
David: Allow me then a moment to consider. You seek your creator. I am looking at mine. I will serve you, yet you're human. You will die, I will not.
