A great book. Suspenseful to the very last page. Written beautifully.

Fun YA sci-fi, the action in the second half of the book kept me powering through wondering how it was going to end. The romance can be cheesy in places but I loved the alternate POV and getting to know each character throughly. Some of the plot twists are obvious and some were a surprise. All in all solid first half of the story now onto book 2 😄

Battlestar Galactica meets Arrival meets Tomb Raider in this YA sci-fi adventure and, after I made it through the relatively slow start, I was totally in for the ride. With charming characters, a well thought out dystopian future/space exploration out of desperation plot line, and a dash of (admittedly borderline instalove) romance, this was a very fun read. Once it got its hooks into me I couldn't put it down. I'm definitely on board to check out the sequel when it comes!

WELL. That was certainly different the second time I tried it. Starting at page 80 really helped- this one takes a while to get into the real plot, the one we're promised. But after that, it feels VERY Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones + aliens. Which I loved. I ate this one up, as I do all of Kaufman/Spooner's works, and I eagerly await the sequel, which I hope has more answers, because there is a SERIOUS cliffhanger and I was NOT happy with the ending (not because it was bad, but because of the plot twist, which left me stunned.

Either way, I'm in for book 2. Congrats on another winner, authors.

Woohoo! Another great teen scifi w/romance by Amie Kaufman and, in this case, Megan Spooner. A fast and entertaining read. If you can possibly restrain yourself, don't read the end until you get there. My only critique is that there's too much rumination...
