Saw in the library, SOUNDED scary and spooky-just my cup of tea. Decided to watch it after having it for a week and a half. I watched for about ten minutes and finally, I asked myself, what the heck was this movie supposed to be about, so I got up and reread the back of the container. Ok, maybe just give it more time. Kind of boring. After it was over, watched the Special Features. The writer explained a lot, which sort of made me understand the movie a little bit more, and my understanding is, WHAT COMES AT NIGHT, is the 17 year old's nightmares of what he was experiencing. My take, so if anyone reads this and wonders what "it comes at night" could possibly mean, its nightmares and paranoia of the unknown. I think this movie is probably classified as a thinking person's "scary" movie, because there isn't the typical other physical stuff in the movie. Some people might like it. It was okay for me. When I saw Riley Keough being interviewed, was REALLY surprised to see Elvis Presley's granddaughter as part of the cast, recognized the name right off the bat, but, have never seen her. Other than that, I wasn't scared, I wasn't terrorized, it didn't give me nightmares or scary thoughts to think about before falling asleep tucked into bed. If I hadn't seen the author talking about it, I would have given it a zero star if possible, but, he explained it somewhat to my satisfaction, and then it made sense. Maybe people should watch the author's explanation before watching the movie. As it is, I give it 2 1/2 stars.

A very low budget, ordinary film, and not a scary thriller with no special effects. I don't know what their, title: " it comes at night", symbolizes or portrays in this movie? which has no meaning??? which is why I picked it to view in the first place - thinking it was about an evil, fun monster which attacks at night? :) lol... :0
I actually like some of the other exciting 'Zombie-movies', a lot better which gives you a bang for your buck ! :) This movie is just a simple story about folks getting 'ill' or sick from a plague or some unknown virus attack. Kinda stupid?

Highly tense. A more realistic depiction of life after an apocalyptic event than “A Quiet Place”, which got laughably unrealistic (according to the universe that writer/director set up) in its second half.

It comes at night is an extremely beautiful film that is riveting and makes the viewer think to understand the events that occur, I would definitely recommend not to watch the trailer as it is rather deceiving, even the title implies that there is a monster or some being in the movie but the "IT" is fear itself. There are many details that one should pay attention to understand this movie. The actors do an amazing job of adding fear and suspense, though not a traditional horror it may seem like it since it follows a family that live in seclusion out of fear for the virus that is outside, the film definitely starts bleak and ends even bleaker. Definitely enter this film with an open mind and prepare for a movie that will stay in you weeks after watching it. 4/5 Stars. @TheCollector of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Not your typical "horror" flick. If you're expecting to see monsters, aliens, blood and guts, or extreme violence with explosions, this is not the movie for you. It's more like the old Twilight Zone series (which we loved) that slowly builds to a surprising ending with powerful social commentary. If that's more your thing, we definitely recommend "It Comes At Night".

So what was the point of this? A rather boring horror/thriller film not really worth the time.

Interesting movie. Held my attention and had its moments but leaves allot of unanswered and unresolved questions.

A good movie. Not of the mindless style implied by the corny title (maybe some marketing executive is to blame for that). You actually have to watch and pay attention.

A complete waste of time. No point to it. Just unpleasantness. Not much of a story. Everyone dies for no good reason. You keep waiting for it to get good and then it abruptly ends.
