The Loch (a.k.a. Loch Ness) adds up to being a middle of the road, though quite watchable, TV mini series. The namesake setting not unexpectedly has a second-rate constabulary, which needs outside reinforcements to aid in making sense of what's going on. One does not anticipate, however, such a rural setting being overrun by coddled, immature, psychologically unhinged juveniles. Laura Fraser is wholly miscast as a police detective. She's Evie's mother, full stop. Not really letting the cat out of the bag by stating that the plesiosaur does not make an appearance, but a sleight of hand, first class twist at the end commendably caps the unraveling of the mystery.
