This author has no problem using vulgarity and writing about graphic sex. Even though the book is based on rape, so much of the description is unnecessary. Another con to this book was all of the different outside stories, i.e. Jack’s childhood and college years or Addie’s lost daughter, etc. It’s an insight into their history, but they really aren’t relevant to the storyline. On the plus side was the character development, the intensity of their interactions and the seeming facts of what happens in rape cases such as these, the injustice/justice and the work involved in proving different sides.
