So, Eloisa James is kind of hit and miss with me, and this one was more of a miss. (She is on the second tier of my romance writers list. I read her, but always want the writing to be a little better.) The first half of the book introduced too many characters and plot lines. It took me awhile to be convinced that Roberta and Damon where the main characters, because they were not nearly as interesting as anyone else. And this book was all over the place. I wanted to read about everyone except for the leads. And I kind of did, because there was so much going on. I did find the second half to be better than the first and I am interested enough to read the other books in the series, because now that everyone in England has been introduced, the stories have to be more cohesive. (Or so I hope.) I would like to emphasize, that I did not hate this book; I had some fun. I just really wished it was better.
