No Doubt’s 6th studio album Push and Shove fell under the radar after its lackluster release in 2012. However, it delivers everything you could want from a No Doubt album: a blending of dancehall and electronic beats, punk sensibility, great lyrics, and Gwen Stefani’s playful, pop-filled vocalizations. Although it does not contain a chart topping hit like Don’t Speak from Tragic Kingdom, the album reaches new heights and demonstrates a sense of musical maturity and evolution while staying true to the band’s unique sound. This is one of my go-to workout albums, as I can just press play and run to the multitude of beats that extend through the hour long run time. Totally worth a listen if you want an upbeat, fun, and diverse record.
