This book taught me to always have hope in no matter what you do. In the book Melody always had hope that she would find a permanent home or her mom would come back from jail. She also hoped to get a library card and her wish came true in the end. This relates to my life all the time, when I’m sick and I hope to feel better or when I want my favorite soccer team to win a match. I think hope is very important in our lives because if we didn’t have hope we would never care if life will get better in some situations. Melody learned in this book to not only rely on hope and luck but that you have to make your own decisions.
