After seeing all the awards given the author I was expecting a pretty good read. I was somewhat disappointed. The story flowed well but the fact that she had all the money in the world (3 houses?) and every time she needed information or assistance, her staff quickly came up with tons of information orcwhatever she needed. It made the story pretty unrealistic. The characters are also a bit two dimensional, I could not really get into the story other than curiosity as to how it would be resolved. The main character appeared to be just another privileged, self-important woman who floats through the story with her large staff and other contacts/friends who are always there to assist her. Money is no object so that also added to the ridiculousness. Truly a fantasy life for her and her husband. I am glad I read this book (to see what this author writes) but will definitely not look for another. For those people looking for a good mystery series, it's hard to beat the Richard Jury novels by Martha Grimes ( and award winner who truly deserves it). Start with 'the man with a load of mischief'. Another good series is the Bill slider books by Cynthia Harrod Eagles, which begins with the novel 'Orchestrated Death'.
