This is a 1975 black-and-white war film written and directed by Stuart Cooper. Set around the D-Day invasion ('Operation Overlord'), Overlord is a surviving story about a British young soldier. His meditations on being part of the war machinery, and his premonitions of death is shocking. The film was entered into the 25th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear - Special Jury Prize. Director Cooper also includes footage of the London Blitz and bombing of Europe to emphasise the events leading up to the invasion and the comparatively short distance between England and France. It is a breath-taking and fascinating war film you would love to remember.
