Malcolm Gladwell once asked Michael Lewis what underpinned his choice of subject. Lewis replied he admired brave people. He would admire Peter Foster. Foster will no doubt be pilloried for writing about what motivates the ‘global salvationist’ crowd, for speaking truth to taboo. Maybe Lewis could write a book about him someday. Unfortunately, Why We Bite the Invisible Hand will not likely be read by many over the next 20 years but more appreciated 50, 100, 200 years from now. Let’s hope.
