While I’ve already reviewed ‘Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods’, by the same author, this book definitely deserves a mention as well. It follows a very similar premise, the famous character from Rick Riordan’s series; ‘The Lightning Thief’, explains and details the aincent Greek myths about the Greek heroes, including many famous ones such as Jason, Heracules, or Perceus. The book contains historically accurate(to an extent) information about the heroes, but adds some satirical and modernized (fake) information to the book. It’s a very informal book, in comparison to pretty much every other mythological books out there, and it really takes the slow and boring parts out of the Greek mythology and really, just leaving in the most exciting parts of the mythology. Overall, if you’re a mythology ‘purist’ I wouldn’t recommend this book to you, as, honestly, it’s mostly satire, while also keeping in the actual information about the heroes. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to read the Greek hero myths, while also not wanting to have to struggle through the boring slow original myths. 4/5. @Xeno of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library As the sequel to Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes once again takes us back to the myths of ancient Greece told by one of our favourite demigods, Percy Jackson. From killing monsters, to upsetting the gods, and journeys down to Tartarus for true love, this book has it all. John Rocco once again did an amazing job illustrating the book. Not to mention the creative titles describing each heroes story was a nice added touch. Though I didn't like the book as much as Greek Gods it's definitely a book I'd recommend to anyone wanting to brush up on their Greek mythology - 4.5 Stars - @Ruby_Tuesday of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This is another great set of stories, organized in chapters, written about Greek Mythology! Except now, we are learning about the classical heroes of the older days, and what they did to make themselves so well-known. For anyone who wondered what Hercules's twelve labours actually were, to any regular mortal who was just curious about who Percy Jackson even was, this is an awesome place to begin. Maybe read a chapter a day to expand your knowledge about these heroes? Regardless, Rick Riordan has satisfied another round of readers. 5/5 Stars. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
