Can this author really be only 30? This was so accomplished, not a word astray. Lilia was abducted by her father when she was 7. They drove and moved from city to city, eating in diners and sleeping in motels, trying not to get caught. As an adult, Lilia doesn't know how to stop leaving places and people. Lovely metaphors about language and traveling and memory. Eli decides to try to find her when she leaves him behind in New York without a word. I read this way too fast--and will have to read it again. It's that good.
