In this novel, we find summers, cigarettes, pools, hospitals, horses, tiles, cement, sand, letters, plants, fire, vacations, affairs, lies, truths, shame... and alcohol, which impregnates everything, ruins it, and deforms it. Because the father is an alcoholic. And she, the daughter of an alcoholic. But what else is there behind this man who sells construction materials and makes furniture recycling pallets? Although they have lived in the same house for many years, father and daughter barely see each other. They don't speak nor touch each other; but the looks, smells, and sounds, act as liaisons between them. And the silence, all one cannot and will not say, is more a battlefield than a fortress.
